The reason why spotify investing in podcasting because they are trying to reduce screen time and open up a massive audio opportunity and my opinion to this I think this is a good thing for the people.
I think just doing this to compete with apple because they are intimidated so they are coming up with anything to make money and to get more customers.
I don't think Spotify should be going towards the direction of investing in podcasting when its more for just listening to music. The podcast could help them become more populare and gain more fan from it but I don't think its a right choice for them to go through investing into for this year. I don't really know how I feel about this much about them when I don't use their app.

Having promised investors that it would start making decent money from the advertising side of its business – you know, one day, somehow – Spotify has made a move into branded podcasts.
Spotify is used to listen to music, the podcasts could help them become more known and used. I think they have good intentions for adding podcasts to cut screen time, although this could be a bad move for them. Apple dominates the podcast industry, but Spotify has established itself as an important platform for pod casters; what will set the two apart? Hopefully this will prove to be good for Spotify so they can continue to be successful.
Spotify is investing in Podcast because they are betting it will help retain existing subscribers and spur new subscribers to sign up. I think it would help get a lot more subscribers but I don't know if they will get a profit. But it doesn't matter because spotify only cares about satisfying paying subscribers. If they become sucessful they will soon start to compete more broadly for time against all forms of entertainment and informational services and not just streaming music.
Podcasting is actually interesting its like you get to watch non dramatic news. And it doesnt have to be so proper and formatted with a script all the time. Some people just like the cm atmosphere of podcasting.

i like podcasting is interesting to me because Its like u get to observe watching dramatic news and others but doesn't mean to prosper and format the script all the time.

I think Spotify is investing in podcasts because they're becoming more popular. Kobe Bryant has even created his own podcast telling children's stories. many people listen to music while driving or getting work done but there is an upcoming population that listens to podcasts instead
I use personally use Apple Music but podcasts are fun to listen to. They appeal to way more people so the fact that Spotify is now catching up with this trend is cool
