I don't think this is a good tactic. There are already places that we can watch original shows like Netflix and Hulu. We don't need Snapchat doing the same thing because I don't think that was it's intended purpose. They need to try a different tactic; like fixing bugs, or maybe updating the app so it'll look cooler and less confusing.
In my honest opinion I don't think this is a good tactic. I feel like snapchat is doing this for no reason. Theres already a lot of apps and tv shows the world we live in today. Such as Hulu,Netflix, HBO and so on. Also snapchat already have enough users. This would be a great feature but theres already apps and stuff we can use to watch tv shows.
It's a really good tactic, because its grabbing your user back. But if you did have a lot of people watching those snap movies/shows then what's the point.

New features mean new things that will keep the users occupied its like a movie sort of speak if you fail to keep the action coming people are gonna get bored and wanna stop watching. So when you have an app like snap its even easier for people to get bored/tired of using it when there is nothing eye-catching about it. The snap originals will sure benefit but I don't know if it'll be able to rival Netflix and Hulu in the original part of business. This is because of age, usually you'd rarely see anyone who's older in age using snap but Netflix and Hulu are made for all ages and that's why I believe that snap will surely benefit but not get in the lead all-around.
I think its a good idea that snap chat is adding those original shows on their for people to watch and showing people different options like restaurants and places to visit so people can know what good places are out there.
For Snap Inc. maybe this is a good tactic. But they are only doing what everyone else is doing lately, copying. In today's society, many companies and programs have lost their originality. A company can just take an idea, or feature from someone else, label it as their own, and call it an innovation. Although the way Snapchat makes their originals is slightly different, this is still a tactic to try to compete with other companies. When you start competing, it's hard to break the cycle, you will be stuck in competition with another company for as long as your company lives. It may be hard to not compete, but if it is avoidable, avoid competition.

I don’t think it’s a good idea. Nobody wants to sit on an app and watch shows. Snapchat is to quickly see what your friends are doing , see what some celebrities are up to , & give a quick preview of your life. Snapchat is not Netflix , Hulu , or on demand. They should keep it where it is , they are trying too hard to branch out.
I believe its a good idea because of the fact that snapchat is losing its users day by day. Sometimes snapchat can get very boring, some people just wanna scroll through their snaps and watch things other than stories. Snapchat is for sure to pull back some of its old users.
