  2. In a 43-page ruling, US District Court Judge Derrick Watson issued a scathing rebuke just hours before Trump's revised travel ban was to go into effect Thursday. The former President nominated Watson five years ago to serve on the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. He created a ban of the rule of banning muslim countries which had a prevention and a protection behind the words.

    A girl named Je'nan Hayes , who was a Muslim, loved playing basketball. She played basketball for her high school team and got to play in all 24 games. One day a referee for the basketball game complained that Je'nan could not play anymore if she wore her hijab, but it was in her culture that she wore that everyday no matter what. She continues to wear her hijab and plans on playing next season.

  11. On April 27th, Governor Deal signed into law the most recent round of criminal justice reforms in Georgia. Senate Bill 367 enacts many of the recommendations of the state’s Council on Criminal Justice Reform.



    Offenders often leave prison owing tens of thousands of dollars in debt, creating serious obstacles to a successful reentry. The state expects returning offenders to pay these debts, though many struggle to simply find a job and a place to live.

To offset increases in defense spending, the President is proposing $54 billion in cuts to large parts of the federal government.This includes popular programs big and small. Trump's budget would cut off funding entirely for several agencies. This included arts, public broadcasting and development groups, and also proposes steep cuts to agencies like the State Department and Environmental Protection Agency.
