  1. I agree with that because it is a natural life event and it isn't caused by the doctor.

  2. Honestly, I think that's fair. I'm only saying this because 9 times out of 10 it isn't the doctor's fault that their child has a disability. Basically you're saying that the doctor is the reason your child is missing a few chromosomes which makes 0 sense. It's either something you did or it's just in your genes and you're going to have to deal with it.

  3. I don't think it's right for parents to sue doctors if their child is born with a disability because it isn't in their control how a child comes out. As far as a doctor lying about health issues, I doubt if that will take place because if a doctor lie then they will automatically be fired and facing court.

  4. I think that its fair, because its not the doctors fault that the baby has a disability. That is based off of genetics.

  5. I'd say yes. doctors shouldn't get sued for a child born with a disability.

  6. I believe that the doctor should not be able to be sued if the child is born with a birth defect which was not caused by the doctor or the treatment he provides. However I also believe that the doctor should not be able to openly lie about the health of the baby.

  7. I think that that bill should only be used in certain situations. If it's a natural birth defect then no the doctor shouldn't be sued, but if the doctor made a mistake while delivering the baby then they should take full responsibility and be sued.

  8. According to CNN.com, "The Texas Senate may soon decide on a bill that prevents parents from suing their doctor if their baby is born with a disability -- a move abortion-rights supporters say will result in doctors lying to patients about the health of fetuses." I agree with the article because, it's not the doctor's fault your baby was born with a disability.

  10. It is not fair for any doctor to be sued because of someones baby has a disability. It is nothing a doctor can do but deliver the baby and make sure the baby is healthy to go home. A disability is something that the baby is born with our its from genetics.

  11. I agree with the article that this bill would be wrong. However, I don't think a doctor should be sued based off a birth defect that was not caused by them.

  12. i feel like this could be yes and no mainly because if the doctor did something to the baby to get the baby a disability then they should be able to sue but if the mother had been smoking or drinking or something that would harm the health of the baby then the doctor should not be at fault.

  13. I honestly think this a fair decision because it's not the doctor's fault a child is born with a disability.

  15. I believe that the doctor of a pregnant woman should not be sued if their child is born with a disability, but should be held accountable for informing the parent(s) if their child is going to be born with a disability and how they can cope with it.

  16. the doctor has nothing to do with that because if your child has a disability then thats on you and your genetiucs

  17. the doctor aint got none to do with it

  20. This is not ok, by lying you lead the parents to think their kid like others and therefore raise the kid as such when they're not. This will also bring the child into a regular public school which might lead to being bullied which isn't good.

  22. I didn't even know people were suing because of that but that bill should happen because its not the doctors fault some come out with a disability but at the same time the doctors need to make sure they know what they talking about and not just saying stuff

  27. I agree with this article. The DNA defects on a baby has nothing to with how the doctor delivered the child. It would be unfair to the doctor.

  31. I agree with this because doctors should not be sued for something that happens naturally! you cant control nature!

  32. i agree with this because if the baby is born with defects its not the doctors fault, it could be passed on or could simply be because the mom wasn't doing what she needed to do in order to be healthy

  33. The doctor should not be sued if there is a birth defect because most of the time its not the doctors fault.

  34. I agree with the article. Doctors cannot control what happens to your baby during a pregnancy. The baby can develop a disability through genetics while inside the womb. Doctors shouldn't be faulted for something they have no control over.

  36. I believe that people who sue the doctors for birth defects are mainly not the doctors fault in general, it can be something based on the body it came from. I feel this law is a disciplinary action creating less criticism for the hospitals of texas.

  55. If the child has a disability its not the hospitals fault! If this was a switched at birth kind of situation i would see if they would do that but a natural birth defect.....REALLY!

    ReplyDelete
  56. If a child is born with disability, how is it the doctor or the hospital fault? I swear, people just love suing these days just to get moneys. It could be your missing chromosomes or genes to have a disable person, not the doctor.
