I don't quite understand the situation with Hong Kong and China still, because China just wants to take Hong Kong over by force, and that itself, shouldn't be a good thing at all. Indonesia plans to move their capital to a new area, originally surrounded and taken up by a rainforest. Since the area in Jakarta is lacking water and the earth seems to be giving in at any time, I think this idea would manage to work out for Indonesia.

ReplyDeleteHong Kong still has protests and Chinese police resort to tear gas and arresting people to stop protests. I personally think that Hong Kong and Chinese authorities should meet and come to an agreement so they can just be in peace its already to much going on in the world right now.
New things are being created to help athletes beating the heat. This is good because most athletes pass out from heat exhaustion and need to hydrate constantly so they could be safe while practicing in the heat.
There are new tools being created to tell when its hot or not to help athletes fight the heat. I think that this a great creation for athletes since there has been a increase in deaths for heat exhaustion. A man paddle boarded across the Pacific Ocean all alone. I think that him doing that all alone is very brave.

ReplyDeleteIndonesia's capital is sinking and they are planning to build a new capital. I think this is very weird because how does land just suddenly sink like that? There was a man who crossed the Pacific Ocean paddle boarding by himself. I think this is very cool but also dangerous.
ReplyDeleteHong Kong is protesting because of the original renewal of the "One Nation, Two Systems" Agreement. Right now I do not know how this will end other then China inevitably coming to agreement with Hong Kong to remain with the current system or forcefully taking total control. The Jharta sinking is something I've never heard of a whole piece of land sinking but I think the building of a new capital for pakistan will be very interesting.

One topic was how the citizens of Hong Kong are protesting because they felt like their democratic freedom was being attacked. Their protest became chaotic and the police started to attack back but in the midst of that they made over 86 arrest with the range of 12-51 years of age. The second article was about how a country was sinking due to their groundwater. The solution to this problem is that they are going to use a large piece of land that they own and make another capital that will cost about 36 billion dollars.

One article talked about how wet ball globe temperature and how it now being used by coaches who coach outside sports. I think its a good idea it makes sure people don't get a heatstroke or die. another talked about Hong Kong and how people are still protesting,and how police are spraying people with water. I think that by now they would have agreed on something.

They also talked about how many Americans die every year because of heat and how there's a football team that uses a device that tells the coaches when the players shouldn't be outside.
ReplyDeleteOne of the events was about Hong Kong protesting because the new law they are having, “One Nation, 2 System”. The protesting tends to be very violent. My opinion on this is that why make a new law and make people angry? It would cause more problems for Hong Kong. The second event was about how the weather is becoming very hot. Many schools and sport practices are being cancelled. My opinion on this is that people should take care of themselves in the heat.
ReplyDeleteSince June, protest in Hong Kong have been getting more and more serious. There were more than a dozen arrests, inured police officers and a high increase in violence. Even though most of the protest are peaceful, a handful of citizens are violent, going as far to thrown metal poles and bricks at police.
ReplyDeleteThe protests in Hong Kong have still been going on, the ones that happened last weekend involved dozens of arrests, injuries to police officers, and there has been an increased in violence. If the protests are getting more violent then I think that what they are protesting about is really important and Hong Kong needs to see what's wrong. The US centers for disease control have stated that more than 600 Americans are killed every year by extreme heat. I think that this is terrible because people are outside in the heat everyday for work and sports, and they are at risk.

ReplyDeleteIn Hong Kong they are protesting because of a "One nation, Two Systems" agreement and people are throwing tear gas and smoke bomb I feel like they need to resolve this issue and and give the people what they want. They are coming out with new technology to help athletes with bating the heat exhaustion, I believe that this is GREAT idea because athletes tend to be dehydrated and they never want to say anything until something happens to them.

Hong Kong still has many ongoing problems. This issue is still revolving around there wanting of independence. This is a reoccurring issue and i think they deserve their right to be independent. This late in the game with this issue, it has become a problem for people other than the adults. Children even, have been in protest have been hosed down. So what will it take ? All around the country, the use of the wet bulb is greatly being used. This, I believe will greatly protect outside student athletes

I feel as if they should just change the capital to an already existing city, instead of creating an entirely different one. Another topic was protest in Hong Kong. The government has not found an appropriate way to quiet the protest, so the government sends in troops to forcefully disperse the groups. Causing for injury in both sides.

ReplyDeleteMore than a million protesters took to the streets in Hong Kong to protest against a new extradition bill (which is opposed by Amnesty International) and participate in a peaceful demonstration on June 9. Hundreds of thousands then gathered at the Legislative Council from June 11 to 13 to suspend the debate that would allow the enforcement of the extradition bill (find out more about the bill here).

I think it was a good thing to give tips because it can prevent anyone from getting seriously hurt. Also with Hong Kong even though they are trying to prevent the situations from happening they still are and if it keeps on sooner or later someone will get hurt.
