  1. Hong Kong there are many protest and people are throwing tear gas and police are taking extreme measures. Hong Kong needs to solve this problem as quickly as possible so people won’t get hurt. Students that train outside need a new way to cool off while outside. This is a good way to help the kids that get a heat stroke outside or prevent the situation completely

  2. Jakarta is sinking. China is having protest that weren't violent at first but now is. The protesters are throwing stuff at the police officers. A new record was set paddle boarding. He covered about 2,500 miles stand up paddle boarding. That's really cool because my legs and body could never.

  3. Hong Kong has many protestors going against the police on China's Side. Indonesia's capital Jakarta seems to be falling apart, but they plan on moving their capital to another place. I don't quite understand the situation with Hong Kong and China still, because China just wants to take Hong Kong over by force, and that itself, shouldn't be a good thing at all. Indonesia plans to move their capital to a new area, originally surrounded and taken up by a rainforest. Since the area in Jakarta is lacking water and the earth seems to be giving in at any time, I think this idea would manage to work out for Indonesia.

  4. Antonio was the first man to cross the pacific ocean just by paddle boating and set a new world record doing it.

People in Hong Kong are crazy for some reason they keep having protest, their breaking things, creating fires, smoke bombs causing injury. So the police need to handle that.

  7. I think that the object that tells if its to hot outside is a good idea as it keeps athletes from over heating. This can prevent many people from passing out as its to hot to practice outside and causing the team to not get sued over a accident. I think it was a great accomplishment that the guy traveled the entire pacific ocean by using wind and his strength. The amount of strength and courage needed to do this is very high as many things can go wrong, for example you pass out cause you get tired or something happens to the boat, or you go the wrong direction and get lost.

  8. In the news today it gave tips on how to stay cool in the summer for kids who play sports or are outside in the heat for a long time. I think it was a good thing to give tips because it can prevent anyone from getting seriously hurt. Also with Hong Kong even though they are trying to prevent the situations from happening they still are and if it keeps on sooner or later someone will get hurt.

  12. People are still protesting for their democratic rights in Hong Kong. The protests are becoming increasingly violent. Police are releasing tear gas to control them and protesters are attacking the police. Wet Bulb Globe devices may be a new way to monitor heat in order to make sure athletes are protected form illnesses caused from the heat. This should be put into effect by schools because there have been several cases where kids have died due to exercising in the heat.

  17. I never knew that if the temperature is gets hot at a certain point the sweat on your body wont evaporate. Its crazy that someone cross the pacific ocean, even the atlantic ocean with a stand up paddle boat by yourself!! If these protest keep going on its just going to get more violent and eventually people get severely hurt.

  18. Protest in Hong Kong has increased, as well as violence. Many protesters have started throwing rocks and bricks at police officers. Police officers have also started using water hoses to push protesters back. Will the violence ever end.

News tools are being developed to help young athletes beating the heat. This is good because most athletes pass out from heat exhaustion and need to hydrate constantly.

  20. The CNN video gave tip son how to stay cool in the summer. I feel that you need to be very careful as athletes in the hot summer. It could be really dangerous and could also end lives. It is good to stat hydrated while in the sun and dont push your self over your limits.

  21. A man traveled from California to Hawaii in my opinion he deserved it, it was something he wanted to do and he did it and he made it to his destination from all those days he did it, it was worth it.

  22. More than 600 americans are being killed by heat every year. A wet ball globe temperature lets people know how hot it is to be outside for extra curricular activities. It measures the sun, temperature, humidity, wind speed, cloud cover, and sun angle. I believe this the best method at monitoring student athletes who practice outside. A man named Antonio paddled board alone to raise awareness about ocean pollution. I applaud him because I would never do something like that.

  23. Jakarta is sinking and the cause of it is the city's groundwater has been pumped out. All pf this causes constant traffic, air pollution, and rapid growth. Now they are trying to build a new capital which is worth $34 billion dollars, and their plans is to transfer a jungle covered area to it. If only they weren't having problems then they wouldn't have to do that because to I think that's crazy and I don't want them destroying a jungle there but it is what it is. On the other hand, there is football players suffering with the heat, which makes sense. Because of heat related illness and heat strokes.

  24. Over 600 Americans are being killed by extreme heat every year. Wet ball globe temperatures, used by the military, are now being used by coaches of outside sports. A man traveled from California all the way to Hawaii by paddle boarding. He did this to raise awareness for ocean pollution.

  25. Hong Kong is in a state of emergency. Protestors continue, and police brutality is enforced. On the other hand, sports teams and outside activities must take care of players to make sure they dont die of heatstroke

  30. the people in hong kong who are protesting should not attack the police because they are making them use force. schools should not allow kids to practice is extreme heat because families are losing there kids due to this.

  31. protesters and police cant come to an agreement in Hong Kong. I think that they can if they figure out their problems. The heat index is starting to become dangerous and some diseases are starting to pop up.

  32. Indonesia is going to rebuild it capital and I feel uneasy about it because what about the people who stay. The amount of people who may drown in it's flooding. Students are dying because of the summer heats, but they have mad a device that help coaches know when to take breaks or even quit playing. I think this is good because the last thing a school wants is for a student to die any way.

New things are being created to help athletes beating the heat. This is good because most athletes pass out from heat exhaustion and need to hydrate constantly so they could be safe while practicing in the heat.

  34. There are new tools being created to tell when its hot or not to help athletes fight the heat. I think that this a great creation for athletes since there has been a increase in deaths for heat exhaustion. A man paddle boarded across the Pacific Ocean all alone. I think that him doing that all alone is very brave.

  37. Indonesia's capital is sinking and they are planning to build a new capital. I think this is very weird because how does land just suddenly sink like that? There was a man who crossed the Pacific Ocean paddle boarding by himself. I think this is very cool but also dangerous.

  38. Hong Kong is protesting because of the original renewal of the "One Nation, Two Systems" Agreement. Right now I do not know how this will end other then China inevitably coming to agreement with Hong Kong to remain with the current system or forcefully taking total control. The Jharta sinking is something I've never heard of a whole piece of land sinking but I think the building of a new capital for pakistan will be very interesting.

  39. One topic was how the citizens of Hong Kong are protesting because they felt like their democratic freedom was being attacked. Their protest became chaotic and the police started to attack back but in the midst of that they made over 86 arrest with the range of 12-51 years of age. The second article was about how a country was sinking due to their groundwater. The solution to this problem is that they are going to use a large piece of land that they own and make another capital that will cost about 36 billion dollars.

  40. Hong Kong is having violent protests. The police is arresting people and pulling tear gases to dissolve the protests. I think that their government have to find a solution as soon as possible.
They are creating new tools help young athletes beat the heat.I personally think that it is a good idea especially for students health

  41. One article talked about how wet ball globe temperature and how it now being used by coaches who coach outside sports. I think its a good idea it makes sure people don't get a heatstroke or die. another talked about Hong Kong and how people are still protesting, and how police are spraying people with water. I think that by now they would have agreed on something.

  43. One of the events was about Hong Kong protesting because the new law they are having, “One Nation, 2 System”. The protesting tends to be very violent. My opinion on this is that why make a new law and make people angry? It would cause more problems for Hong Kong. The second event was about how the weather is becoming very hot. Many schools and sport practices are being cancelled. My opinion on this is that people should take care of themselves in the heat.

  44. Since June, protest in Hong Kong have been getting more and more serious. There were more than a dozen arrests, inured police officers and a high increase in violence. Even though most of the protest are peaceful, a handful of citizens are violent, going as far to thrown metal poles and bricks at police.

  45. The protests in Hong Kong have still been going on, the ones that happened last weekend involved dozens of arrests, injuries to police officers, and there has been an increased in violence. If the protests are getting more violent then I think that what they are protesting about is really important and Hong Kong needs to see what's wrong. The US centers for disease control have stated that more than 600 Americans are killed every year by extreme heat. I think that this is terrible because people are outside in the heat everyday for work and sports, and they are at risk.

  46. Recently, the citizens of Hong Kong have been protesting. The reason is because they have felt like their freedom was being violated. Also, There are new tools being made to help athletes survive in the heat longer.

  49. In Hong Kong they are protesting because of a "One nation, Two Systems" agreement and people are throwing tear gas and smoke bomb I feel like they need to resolve this issue and and give the people what they want. They are coming out with new technology to help athletes with bating the heat exhaustion, I believe that this is GREAT idea because athletes tend to be dehydrated and they never want to say anything until something happens to them.

  52. Hong Kong still has many ongoing problems. This issue is still revolving around there wanting of independence. This is a reoccurring issue and i think they deserve their right to be independent. This late in the game with this issue, it has become a problem for people other than the adults. Children even, have been in protest have been hosed down. So what will it take ? All around the country, the use of the wet bulb is greatly being used. This, I believe will greatly protect outside student athletes

  53. Indonesia capital is sinking into the ocean. As a result, the country is moving it’s capital to an island miles away, resulting in a billion dollar project to clear an uninhabited area. I feel as if they should just change the capital to an already existing city, instead of creating an entirely different one. Another topic was protest in Hong Kong. The government has not found an appropriate way to quiet the protest, so the government sends in troops to forcefully disperse the groups. Causing for injury in both sides.

Hundreds of thousands then gathered at the Legislative Council from June 11 to 13 to suspend the debate that would allow the enforcement of the extradition bill (find out more about the bill here).
