I feel like the teachers could have been more professional about it. They were wanted about it, so I feel like they could have took greater measures to prevent this incident.
This article, although very sad, makes me quite angry. The article states on multiple occasions that the police were aware of this student's "hit list" and his dark and suggestive actions, and yet they continued to allow him to go to this school, and did not search his household for guns. This to me makes no sense as in our day and age, people are searched at traffic stops for no reason, but some teen is allowed to act extremely suspicious and send threats to other students and go virtually unscathed. This shooting could have been prevented, but it wasn't, and only our first responders are to blame.

I feel the first signs of violence from the student should have been reported and handled at that moment. Also I feel the school should of got the student some type of treatment, instead of letting him come back to the same school.
Some preventative measures that could've taken place to prevent this event from happening was that the teachers could've inspected and looked deeper into Betts's behavior so they could've immediately took action in order for this problem to be solved.
The administrators should've made it a priority to get him help when they found out about the hit list. Even though he didn't act on anything that was still a serious situation that they should've handled better.
I feel like the moment that the kid showed any form of violent tendencies that he should have been confronted and have his problems looked into. He could have gotten help with whats going on and this situation wouldn't have to happen.

Once the list was reported to the police, they should’ve Ripken better action, instead of just suspending him. Threats like that should be taken seriously. At minimum, he should’ve been put in jail for at least a year.
I feel as if the school officials should have done something knowing they were on the hit list they informed the students so they should have tried to protect them the best hat they could. The police officers also should have taken more actions then what they did.

it's sad because of what happen in the shooting to all the victims and the family lost someone that they cared about but in my opinion it bad that a child at that age could even think of killing any young kids with a bright future.
