This cop should be sacrificed to SATAN in exchange for stability in our capitalist economy. Their behavior is unacceptable and as a man of the law, he does not accurately represent the police force as a whole. "This guy is just a dick", said the man in the video, and truer words have never been spoken.
ReplyDeleteThese cops are getting out of hand, like it's crazy. You can't talk to just anybody how you want to. People have no dignity about anything they do. I agree with his badge and gun being taken, one hundred percent. The cop was out of hand and disrespectful. It makes people scared to be pulled over and approached by the police, when they're suppose to be "protectors".
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty outrageous video. The police had no reason to go off on the driver like that. The police are already under high scrutiny these days and all he did was make the rest of the police force's problems higher. They should have stripped him of his badge and put him in anger management. I don't think this was the first time he has done this. It sounds like he has some anger problems. I would have been shaking and crying if someone like that, with authority, was cursing and yelling at me. Thankfully, the argument didn't escalate into anything more. However, it is still unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteThis cop received the right punishment for berating an uber driver for he over reacted to the gestures made by the driver and taking it too personal. The behavior presented by this officer was a complete disgrace to officers who claim to mange the peace, not dampen it further. The appropriate solution to this misdemeanor seems appropriate in relation to what should happen. Detective Patrick Cherry has been removed from the department’s elite Joint Terrorism Task Force and will be doing desk duty until he is officially transferred out of the prestigious division. In the events of what happened this action by the NYPD is an appropriate punishment to the person who reflected poorly on everyone who wears the police uniform.
ReplyDeleteA cop shouldn't be treating or using those choice of words to an uber driver. Also he shouldn't been yelling the way he was and asking how long he's been in America. Which wasn't right. Police officers are suppose to approach the situation in a calm not going out of hand for no reason.
ReplyDeleteI personally could not watch the video because it would not load. But from reading the article it looks as if the cop approached the driver in the wrong way and took the situation wrongly. No matter what the situation is or how mad you are that is not the way you go of things. I think he should be suspended until he figures out how to thoroughly handle his job as a man of the law. He is supposed to be someone people can call for help how can you call for help if this is how we are going to get treated?
ReplyDeleteI personally believe that the cop did wrong first by trying to park and not using any type of signal. However, the driver did not have to make any rude gestures because two wrongs don't make a right. Then in addition to making the first wrong, the cop made it worse by yelling at the man and the Uber driver only tried to apologize. I think the officer should have lost his job.

ReplyDeleteThe police should not have acted in such an angry manner to the driver. The situation clearly wasn't that serious and there was no need for such ill mannered behavior. While the right action was put in place by the stripping of his badge that still does not take away from the reoccurring reality that police are abusing their powers. Police Men are suppose to be valiant protectors of the people, not an antagonist who scrutinize civilians.

The police officer shouldn't have spoken to anybody like that whatsoever. I understand your a cop but that doesn't give you the right to say anything he wants to. I agree with them taking his license away and gun that's rediculous.
ReplyDeleteThis cop deserves to be kicked off the force in my opinion. Main reason being that cops are supposed to uphold the law in the upmost respect and duty, and he clearly committed violations from within the speech.
ReplyDeleteMaria Carter
ReplyDeletehe already is getting moved to a new unit and he is doing a desk job. his behavior should make it to where he doesnt work with people. he needs to learn how to deal with people before he can work with them. i think he should get a new job because it doesnt seem like a good idea for him to work there anymore. but i like the punishment he already got. it seems reasonable and fair because he will also be moved into a place were he most likely wont get paid as much.
the police has gotten his badge an gun token away theirs nothing much you can do. he was being disrespectful to the driver and his boss saw it and took action and not let him get away with.

ReplyDeleteI think they are doing fine with taking away his badge, gun , and putting him on modified duty. He should understand the messed up part of his actions. He might even need to be kicked of the police force.
ReplyDeleteThe behavior of this police officer was uncalled for and not needed. He was using the harsh voice and saying rude things simple because he has the power to. Police feel as if they have the power to do whatever they want nowadays. This man should not be allowed to work in the force anymore along with many others. He should apologies to the man which he falsely accused. This man is acting the same as many current officers do and taking all their anger and problems out on people which have done nothing wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe cop should be removed from the force for his actions. To me this is racism and a big case of discrimination. People all over the world are tired of cops thinking they are above the law.
ReplyDeleteThe cop deserves what he gets. I don't understand why the cop thinks he has the right to speak like that to anybody, just because your a cop doesn't mean you have the right to disrespect another. Cops were made to enforce the law in respect and he did not do so with his choice of words. The cop got what he deserved and this should be a lesson to him.

ReplyDeleteI believe the cop was over reacting and should be punished. For him saying that the uber driver is not getting arrested cause he has more important things to do is insane. All for not having a blinker. Really i think the cop was mistreating his use of powers on a non american.

ReplyDeleteJustice should most definitely be served for this wrongful act displayed by this cop. There is no reason for the continuous disrespect he showed towards the driver. This cop should be stripped of his badge and any authority he holds. This was most definitely an act of discrimination and racism and i'm glad that they are taking charge of this matter.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer shouldn't have spoken to anybody like that whatsoever. The behavior presented by this officer was a complete disgrace to officers who claim to mange the peace, not dampen it further. This was most definitely an act of discrimination and racism. From the actions and examples set by police officers today, it is believed cops abuse their authority.
ReplyDeleteJustice should be served for this wrongful act. This is one crazy act that the cop played. The officer was disgrace to their police department up there. I think this is a prime example of whats going on in our world today.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer was very disrespectful. He should be punished for what he did because it was unnecessary and a disgrace to the proud men and woman who put that uniform on daily and use it for the right purposes. For him saying that the uber driver is not getting arrested cause he has more important things to do is outrageous. Judging off this case and other cases in the past it does seem true that cops today abuse their power.

ReplyDeleteThe police officer shouldn't have spoken to anybody like that whatsoever. I understand your a cop but that doesn't give you the right to say anything he wants to. I agree with them taking his license away and gun that's rediculous.
ReplyDeleteI think that the cop was completely wrong for harassing the Uber driver. The police officer purposely tried to make the driver feel like he was beneath him and talked to him very disrespectfully. It is good that the passenger recorded this incident because its helping spread awareness about how disrespectful and rude a lot of police officers are. Police brutality needs to be stopped. I also think that the officer bringing the drivers race and where he came from into the conversation was completely unnecessary.

ReplyDeleteThe polices should have not acted in that type of manner to the driver. This type of behavior that he put on he should excused from the department. Instead of being moved to the front desk duty he needs to be excused from the district.Police are supposed to be the protectors of the people and the city but now in our world the police are taking advantages of their power.

ReplyDeleteSome police officers feel as if they are above everyone else ;they need to learn that even tho they are the law they are not above the law. The law must learn to treat people with respect. The fact that he talked to that man as if he was a kid is just disgusting. He should be fired. Police officers job are to INFORM, PROTECT, and then ENFORCE
ReplyDeleteMia Reddick.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer had no reason to disrespect the driver . Everyone should be treated equally especially if the driver did not come off rude. Majority of the time police officers feel that they have all the ultimate power. Therefore, they feel the need to disrespect others and go out of their character. Overall, police officers are there to help and protect and enforce the laws and not destroy the society ( like police brutality ).

ReplyDeletePolice officers feel they are above everyone and that they can do what they want. This needs to change.
ReplyDeleteThe police are here to protect us. Every once in a while, one makes a mistake and is usually punished severely for the mistake. The problem is that nobody is perfect in their job. So the cop acting this way towards the uber driver is uncalled for . The cop should be suspended with no pay

ReplyDeletei feel as if the cop who pulled the guy in new York over should be on probation or suspended for his job because you cant just go up to someone in their car and just start yelling and cursing at them just so they can do your orders i'm pretty sure when you signed up for that job they didn't say just go out and abuse people of something they did wrong.
ReplyDeleteWas the guy being a butthole , yea. Did he do anything wrong , no. Basically he cursed him out. Theres nothing wrong in that. Dude is just soft. I seen nothing illegal happen on the cops side. Being a jerk isn't illegal. matter of a fact , most cops are jerks. The guy needs to learn how to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteA cop shouldn't be treating or using those choice of words to an uber driver. I think it's good that he got his badge taken. That's what his behind gets. You can't just treat people any type of way.The police officer had no reason to disrespect the driver .
ReplyDeleteI think it was wrong for him to come at the man like that. He should have just been nice and calm about it. The man didn't come at him in any type of rude way. I think he thinks he can talk to him like that just because hes a cop and hes actually making officers look bad. I personally think he needs to be fired and im pretty sure the man driving was embarrassed at the end.
ReplyDeleteI think that it was wrong for what the officer did and should loose his job for what he done. Just because he is an officer of the law does not give him the right to harass an innocent civilian. Some police officers are nothing but school bullies who do nothing but harass people just for the heck of it.
ReplyDeleteI feel that he should be suspended or receive probation. I'm glad his badge and gun was removed. The fact that he wasn't going to arrest him due to the cop having more important things to do is crazy. There should be no reason a cop like that she receive a consequence.
ReplyDeleteA police officer should not be treating or using those choice of words to an uber driver. Also he shouldn't been yelling the way he was and asking how long he's been in America. ReplyDeleteThe police shouldn't be treat anybody any kind of way especially after the reputation they have on there name so me personally think the police was way out of line for what they did and it was truly unnecessary they should have took his badge.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer should have been fired from his job and never allowed to work in that position again. Even though the driver could have broke a few laws, he had no right to blow up in his face. Also, it didn't help that the officer made fun of his race. No police officer should treat people like he did to the driver.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer shouldn't have carried on like that. He should have lost his job for behaving that way.The officer was also being a bit racist so his behavior was obviously out of control. The police department should do better to train their officers.
ReplyDeleteI think these cops are getting out of hand its crazy You really can't talk to just anybody how you want to people have no dignity about anything they do.I agree with them taking his license away and gun that's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI think that the police officer should have been suspended for his actions. While he is a person in "authority", he still does not have the right to berate the Uber driver like he did. The driver did not deserve to be talked to like that. The police officer was wrong for what he said, and only made it worse, as the article said for other policemen who are already stereotyped.

ReplyDeletehis cop received the right punishment for berating an uber driver for he over reacted to the gestures made by the driver and taking it too personal. The driver did not deserve to be talked to like that.

ReplyDeleteI believe the punishment the police officer received is reasonable. The officer should have approached the situation differently. I believe the officer should be removed from the force because we need stability and reason in our forces. That is the thing toady's police officers lack.
ReplyDeletethe problem was taken way out of control and everybody should be punished accordally

ReplyDeleteThe cop should receive appropriate punishment in result of his belittling the driver. The words exchanged and actions taken are none other than absolutely ridiculous. The title of a cop does not provide the authority to abuse the power privileged to them. Judging by his actions, it does not appear to be the first time making this mistake as the officer is comfortable with his actions. Language like this from a police officer could only be extremely frightening, especially considering the series of police shooting innocent people recently.

ReplyDeleteI think the cop should be kicked off of the force, such behavior is not accepted and should not be tolerated. it's 2015 why can't everybody get along. It's even more insane is people are suppose to depend on cops for safety and what has been going on is far from their definition. I think every officer should be put through training once again to PROPERLY deal with every situation, instead of killing them or harsh fully beating people.

ReplyDeleteI dont like it when people yell at me. Its in like my top 3 least favorite things to have happen to me , right behind being shot and being stabbed. This "cop" should not only be fired but cut his tounge right out of his mouth so he can never hurt another person again.

ReplyDeletethis video is kinda hard to watch. that officer shouldnt have went off on the drive that way . police officers are already in so much at this point in time and all he did was make it worse for many officers around the world. in my opinion he doesn't deserve to keep his job. I don't think this was the first time he did something like this . I would have been terrified if this happened to me. by the grace of god the situation didn't turn into anything more but it easily could have.
ReplyDeletePolice are abusing their power. No cop should feel like they are superior or above anyone. They can't just talk to people anyway they feel like it. There is a right way to do things and 100% of the time, being aggressive and rude is not the right thing to do. The cop should be suspended indefinitely and be put through training again as punishment.

ReplyDeleteI feel as if police take advantage f their authority. It seems as if they are never punished for their mistakes. Police also act as if they are above society and seem to never think as if they where in the place of society.
ReplyDeleteThe police are overusing there power and it has to stop because it seems there doing these things on purpose because they can get away with it and it's unfair to people who don't know their rights and the laws and it's wrong for the police to use their power to hurt people
ReplyDeleteThe police are here for citizens to be safe not to be afraid of like most citizens. This police officer should be given an appropriate punishment. The next step is to prevent situations like this from happening again. Police officers should not think they are above the law.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I think that the way the police officer handled the situation was very wrong. The way the officer was talking to the uber driver was very disrespectful. To be honest, the way that the police are using their power is the wrong way for which they are abusing it passed their limits for situations where it isn't even needed.
ReplyDelete
