Police say 23-year-old William Maddox, a University of Georgia graduate, is in critical but stable condition at Athens Regional Medical Center.According to police, the Nissan was carrying Cox, Smith and Maddox, driver Madison Wilhelm and Eric Dobbs. Investigators said Wilhelm’s vehicle left the roadway and she overcorrected, crossing the median into northbound lanes of the Athens loop and hitting another car. Dobbs and Wilhelm were treated and released.
