  2. Yes I believe the move is controversial because Google is taking away the censor from Google for China users.

  3. yes I do believe that the move in controversial because people will start to think china is going to do something else with the internet other than online shop.

  4. I think that if Google does move to China it won’t be bad because a lot of things come from china . Also if they follow the rules that China sets and stay in their lane we are all good !

  5. I think this would be controversial to the Chinese community, what they know is that google wasn't allowed by there government for some reason, well I don't know about you but if my government didn't allow something I would think it wasn't safe. I think at the beginning it will be controversial because they think its bad, somethings wrong and thats why there government didn't allow it, but as it goes I think more people will use it and the controversy would go away and man, google is going to make bank roll.

  6. The move is undeniably controversial. On one hand, Google can now advertise to the large Chinese population and potentially pave the way for internet freedom in China. On the other hand, Google is conforming to China's strict internet restrictions and opening the opportunity for misinformation by the Chinese government. Google changed their motto from "don't be evil" to "do the right thing". On the surface it looks like a positive change that will reshape the company in a favorable way, but thee reality is that the motto can be easily interpreted in whatever way google wants. For example they justified opening the Chinese Google again by saying "It is the right thing for Google.

  7. Yes I think google should move to china , the reason is almost everything from the United States is from china. Also I think china is a good reason to controversial google. China would probably just use google as the online shopping .

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think that it should move to china because we are still going to use it and it would be very controversial because most of are things are made in china .

  9. I believe the move to China wouldn't be controversial. Because they used to have a search engine for them into they got hacked. They rerouted them to another one of their search engine. But Chinese citizens might feel like they are restricted to their search again because they get all the filter results because of their government.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I believe the move is controversial because they would block out the parts that don't fit into China's government. It could help many people who like to use the internet as a source of research and maybe even help China improve in products.

  11. I don't believe that this move is controversial. I say this because human rights groups in China getting upset because they feel like Google is taking over. Google in China is not such a good idea because it could mess many things. Now and days people can use apps that tells all your information. They feel that if Google moves to China they can make the platform bigger than it already is ,so other platforms wont have a choice but to pay attention.

  12. I do think that this movement is controversial because of the many negative outcomes that can happen. Anyone will be able to access google which can result in increased number of hackers. The governments are known for already hacking our devices to see who we are and where we are, maybe this is why Google wasn't allowed in China. They want to keep their secrets and data safe from the public and hackers.

  13. I think Google should move to China. Because in China the technology is growing rapidly, in China there are millions of Internet users and thriving online shopping, . . . Those things will bring Google many benefits if Google moves to China.

  14. I do believe that this move is controversial because Google has made previous attempts over the years to accommodate the Chinese government. These attempts were somewhat successful because Google modified its services by creating "Google.cn" for its users in China, and has even removed search results from the server in compliance with China's dictatorship form of government. This apparently still was not enough for China, so Google was forced to retreat back West due to the attacks they (Google) had endured from Beijing, Google speculated. In conclusion, the move to China is a controversial move for Google because of the many issues, cyber-attacks, and demands of the government.

  15. Google is trying to make it back to China. There trying to make it back but its difficult for them because China has a lot of internet providers that cover them already.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i feel that it will be controversial because people in china think its bad because the government banned it for a little. after a while people will try it more and see nothing is wrong with google. Then google will be the biggest search engine out.

  17. This move to China I think is very big and Controversial for China. A few years the government didn't allow after some big massacre in 2014.It's like starting a old friendship all over again and making it stronger and bigger. Let's be honest we got or was made in China starting with clothes and shoes. In the U.S. alone we get about 95% of our stuff from China. I think the great and also the right decision for the Company Google. Giving back the people in China Internet freedom it just seems like the thing or way to go.

  18. I do believe that this move in controversial. Google can easily outdo the Chinese tech companies that currently dominate search. This business idea will help the people of China with efficient internet searching. Also, with the people knowing what is censored by their gov't, they have an idea of what their gov't limits them to know. Lastly, Google can earn higher ranks in the market with joining China.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I do agree the move is controversial. Google seems to pride itself on doing the right thing and being more concerned with happiness than money, so listening to the Chinese government's demands may paint it in a bad light. I don't think this makes much sense considering google with the limits it has still is more beneficial than no google at all. Google could possibly be doing it mostly or entirely for money, but they're still helping people regardless.

  20. Yes , I do think that this move is controversial . Everybody does not look at this the same way . Some people may think that china is going to use google for bad things instead of thinking about the positive . Some may even think that people will use it and maybe to turn it into a dark market . But , some people in china may think google is actually doing the harm to them .

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes I think the movement would be controversial because everything from the US is made basically from China . Also it would let more people visit the internet more often .Also they would be shopping for more of china products on google. I think the government should approve it as letting google be in china .

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree that the move is controversial. From a business perspective getting back into China is the right thing for Google. This will help google out alot

    ReplyDelete
  23. In my opinion i do think the move is controversial because as it say china did ban google for some years on some occasions . If china thinks about it they should get google because it can help them with more things and google will be the biggest.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it is because it has been tampered with by Chinese hackers. It is due to censorship of the filtered Chinese version of Google that people will have a problem with this. China (government) is now using Google to being very intrusive on people's personal information, basically finding out who you are and where you live through the apps you're using on your phone. Gmail is also suffering from this.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I believe this move is controversial because the Chinese government still has some second thoughts about whether this is good for the people and regards to some content that will be shown. The time to bring Google back is actually not that bad and I honestly think they should be able to access the internet. There are so many things going on and they're definitely going to have to catch up to the present eventually moving away from the Great Firewall. China's regulations to work around technology and access to the web is understanding since they're only trying to prevent things from happening and the user's knowledge of certain topics. If Google comes back, many others will question if the government is still going to make censorship. It is a higher chance they will.

  27. i believe that Google returning back to China will be controversial because, in 2010 when Chinese hackers, hacked google, China started to doubt the company. Then later on that year Google stopped running the censored version so now people can feel free to actually google.

  28. I agree that the move is controversial. From a business perspective getting back into China is the right thing for Google. This will help google out alot

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think that it is controversal because the government has been involved. Google is trying to launch a search app in China that will block certain website for China users.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think this move is very controversial. The time to bring Google back is actually not that bad and I honestly think they should be able to access the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  31. In my eyes the move for google is very controversial because of the negatives or positives that come from it. The positive the new technology they can manufacture could be amazing. The negatives are the conflicts they had. Google can make China have even motor access to things while still spending their. company

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think china should have google but google has to be careful because of cyber hackers. Even with the hackers hacking into over 100 retailers yesterday they should put more security on google if they bring google back to china

    ReplyDelete
  33. In my opinion i do think the move is controversial because china did ban google for some years. If china thinks about it they should get google because it can help them with more things and google will be a big impact to their country.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it is controversial because china creates almost everything we use in the world now but there are some pros and cons to this decision.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I believe that this move can be very controversial becuase Google will be moving to a different country. there will be pros and cons to this move though. Some of the pros maybe that we will have some great technology coming from google in the future. A con might be that they will rais the price of goods and production.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I believe this move is controversial because this is a huge step for google. With all the technology China has if Google were to be incorporated with it the possibilities could be endless. There are some precautionary measure that would need to be taken but it is overall a positive move.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Google is in a very controversial situation but if they choose to launch those search apps then they would lose many users in China. China is one of the most populated countries in the world so doing this would hurt even google in multiple ways. But they have to do what’s best for Google themselves and not what society or even critics from the US say as a company you do what’s best for yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is a very controversial because china is one of the largest population in the world and they want google.

    ReplyDelete
  39. While I believe this move is a smart BUSINESS decision by google, I don't think it interferes with Google's main goal of allowing free will among its users. China's government now has the ability to indirectly manipulate both its people and google and its unsettling to many other communist government citizens. Giving one country the ability to censor any and everything may result in others wanting the same. China is a big market, and while the government may have a firm control on their citizens physically, they have yet to control all technology in the country. Google giving up its users free privilege, is just helping leaders gain control and to be honest it doesn't really offer anything new to the already technologically advanced country.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think that the move is controversial. Google was censored in china and most of its popular products like YouTube and Gmail are banned in china.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I feel that google shouldn't move to china. For example China blocked most of there websites like YouTube or Gmail. So why would they move to China when they blocked some of there main sites. Also they will be serving the Chinese government. I see no point in moving it to China.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think that google moving to China is very controversial, but they should definitely go through security procedures regarding hackers and big empires trying to attack. But, besides that I think it'd be good.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I believe this movie is controversial because this is a very big step and google will be moving to a different country is exciting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I believe this move is very controversial. Google should be allowed in china. Internet users in china are very restricted and their searches are filtered. Although in 2010 google's search engine was hacked they should be allowed to use google as a resource. The new motto "Do the right thing" is more reassuring that google is a positive thing.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think its controversial because of Google is trying to do in China. First of there could be positives and negatives to the situation so there will be some controversy. Second they trying to ban stuff in China. I feel they would need to have permission. This is why this is controversial.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The move to China is very controversial because China has many restrictions on internet access. If google moves to china we may get those restrictions too. It is definitely bad in the sense that users in China will catch up on everything that is happening and become upset about what they read or see. They might see bad things on the web and and take it out on the government or others. I think google should stay where it is right now and not get involved with China.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Its controversial because china would try to shut them down anyway.Google would have most of the market share. There is a lot of pro and cons

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think google should move to China because they have more advanced technology and can advanced google even more.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think that taking the privilege of Google and YouTube away from a whole country is controversial. I feel as if they had no reason to take it away in the first place. It's a good idea that they're bringing it back and giving people an opportunity to use it freely.

    ReplyDelete
  50. After reading this article, I think google should move to China. Of course it would be very controversial if that happen. But I think when the U.S people actually see how fast google’s stock rises, they would be fine with it. China’s economy is one of the fastest economic in the world. Moving google would be the best possible thing if they want their stock to rise.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I believe that this is a very controversial move because Google will be completely transitioning to another country, and that will come with a couple of new things that may or may not be good for the company. The company would have to be cautious but besides that this move should go pretty well.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Google's move back to China is controversial. China, being a communist country, censors its internet search engines to keep citizens away from the truth. Since Google has decided to conform to China's "Great Firewall" has made things even worse than when they had first started (in China). Not only is the internet being censored, but the company and the Chinese government can track people's every activity, anytime, anywhere. Google even changing their own motto from, "Don't Be Evil" to "Do the Right Thing" was a mistake. It's a mistake because a reasonible person would do the right thing to not be evil, but most people in today's world simply "Do the Right Thing" for their own gain.

    ReplyDelete
  53. In my opinion, google shouldn't move to China because cyber hackers will have access to private information and Google is not sure if these hackers will end up targeting them again with a more strategic plan.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think this Is a very controversial situation because China has had some problems with google in the past. With them trying to patch up these injuries as you might say, it could very much likely help us out here in the U.S. It would help us advance further in technology.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I believe this move to China can be very controversial for Google because there may be a potential decrease in users once the move is made. China is one of the most thriving country in economics and trade. And this could be< maybe not. We'll see

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think this move is controversial because Google can beat all the other tech companies over there so who knows what might happen.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes , I do think that this move is controversial . I think when the U.S people actually see how fast google’s stock rises, they would be fine with it. Also they will be serving the Chinese government. I see no point in moving it to China.

  58. I believe this is very controversial. On one hand, Chinese citizens should be allowed to use whatever they can within their limitations. It's better to censor Google and allow them access to certain tools and information than to take away Google altogether. Also, the expansion would be very profitable for Google seeing as China has hundreds of millions of internet users that Google could tap into. However, blocking certain things would go against Google's mission and "devotion to web freedom". They would have to comply with China's wishes which they don't agree with. The decision all depends on Google's priorities.

    ReplyDelete
  59. In my eyes i feel like this is very controversial because google going in china for business purposes might help out and be more of a benefit because China's technology is always advancing which will probably be boosting things for google, but when it comes to the people there might be a lot of things cut off from the people to follow the rules and restrictions of china and also be an even bigger treat of hackers. But to me I feel like they should go back to china but only follow a few restrictions because google is known for being able to search anything you want.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The is a bit controversial. For example they justified opening the Chinese Google again by saying "It is the right thing for Google

  61. I think this move will be extremely controversial. It will be controversial because in China they have a lot of hackers and returning google is only going to give those hackers another opportunity to hack google again. Also this will give those hackers an open invitation to start a dark web. This is why it will be controversial.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I believe this movement is controversial because google prides itself on being concerned on doing the right thing in this situation. It could help many people as a source.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yes it is a controversial situation. The reason is that once google goes back to china every other current search engine will be irrelevant. Also if they do bring their search engine back then they will have to thoroughly comply with china and there rules or else they get shut down. Also once they do launch google it will still be restricted and will be shared with the government. This could cause issues with china and their people.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think this move would be extremely controversial. The reason why I think so because there are already hackers in China. Now that they have access to google it would be easier for them hack other stuff. Then if we don't open it up China would think that we are breaking one of the rules about not being evil.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Google's parent company Alphabet changed its motto in 2015, replacing "Don't Be Evil" with "Do The Right Thing." From a business perspective, getting my back into China is the right thing for Google. It currently offers just a few services in the country-Google Translate, a file organizing program and a new Al game. Advertising is Google's main source of revenue, And 1.4 billion potential users are hard to ignore. Facebook (FB), which competes with Google for advertising revenue, is also locked out of China. Shares in Baidu (BIDU) dropped 8% on Wednesday after The Intercept report was published.

    ReplyDelete
  66. this situation is controversial because china could take down google or hack it. I wouldn't want to get in a feud with china over google. so I think they should come to some type of agreement so both parties are happy.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Its probably going to be a big controversial cause if they were allowed their wouldn't be a probably with google moving. Which google wants to add a censorship app that could make china mad. Theres probably billions of online users and censorship would make everyone mad

    ReplyDelete
  68. this would not be a good move to china because google would be a target for stealing data in china

    ReplyDelete
  69. google moving to China would cause a big controversy because they will have to be willing to obey China's laws and regulations that might make it hard for the company. Though, Google moving to China can be a good thing to because it may help china to accept other apps like YouTube to their country. there are many possibilities that can happen if google moves to china.

  71. I do believe Google should move to China. However, if there are environment and service issues it can cause google to slow down leading to less customers. China has lots of experts would are moved to he U.S for help. Moving the whole system to China may allow for a better living for some.
