  1. The Manhattan Project was the codename for a project conducted during World War II to develop the first atomic bomb. The project was led by the United States, and included participation from the United Kingdom and Canada. Formally designated as the Manhattan Engineer District (MED), it refers specifically to the period of the project from 1942–1946 under the control of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, under the administration of General Leslie R. Groves. The scientific research was directed by American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. The project’s roots lay in scientists’ fears since the 1930s that Nazi Germany was also investigating nuclear weapons of its own. Born out of a small research program in 1939, the Manhattan Project eventually employed more than 130,000 people and cost nearly US$2 billion ($22 billion in current value). It resulted in the creation of multiple production and research sites that operated in secret. With the total involved, this makes it one of the largest conspiracies in history. Entire towns were built for short periods of time, employing people, all under secrecy and top national secrecy at that. The government never admitted to it, the media never reported on it, and people had no idea for over 25 years. Project research took place at over thirty sites across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The three primary research and production sites of the project were the plutonium-production facility at what is now the Hanford Site, the uranium-enrichment facilities at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the weapons research and design laboratory now known as Los Alamos National Laboratory. The MED maintained control over U.S. weapons production until the formation of the Atomic Energy Commission in January 1947.

Republican officials spied on the Democratic National Headquarters from the Watergate Hotel in 1972. While conspiracy theories suggested underhanded dealings were taking place, it wasn’t until 1974 that White House tape recordings linked President Nixon to the break-in and forced him to resign.

  2. Conspiracy theories always shape our opinions in culture and society in big way. Conspiracy theories effect our opinions because we feel culture and society play a big role in the conspiracy. Besides the JFK assassination, there had not been any real American Tragedy until 9/11. 9/11 affected the entire nation. It is said that 42% believe the government has something to do with 9/11 and that it was a cover up.

  3. There are many conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attack on the world trade center. Some people believe it was caused by the government. Some people believe the government knew all about the attack way before it happened. Some people believe that Jewish people saw it coming and maybe they even caused. This is such a hugely debated topic that even the popular cartoon show 'Southpark' created an episode all about it. This is definitely a huge conspiracy theory due to the fact that there isn't much evidence behind any of these claims. However, some people still believe it because people like drama and plot twists. people also like to try and deny the truth of horrible events. Its hard to people to acknowledge that something so horrible could happen without a huge story behind it.

  4. The 9/11 Conspiracies was overwhelming that the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Look at the evidence makes it clear that it was carefully planned and executed by conspirators. The question, of course, is who those conspirators were. Put another way, was it an inside job? Conspiracy theorists believe so, and point to a catalog of supposed inconsistencies in the "official version" of the attacks.
Many of the technical conspiracy claims were debunked by Popular Mechanics magazine in March 2005, while other claims are refuted by simple logic: If a hijacked airplane did not crash into the Pentagon, as is often claimed, then where is Flight 77 and its passengers? Are they with the Roswell aliens at Hangar 18? In many conspiracy theories, bureaucratic incompetence is often mistaken for conspiracy. This changed the culture and society in the U.S. Which actually brought us closer.

  5. the most famous conspiracy theories i found were about area 51 and 9/11. these two theories are the most controversial because of the government cover up and restrictions around the area. i do believe that they are trying to hide something. for area 51 its the fact that you cant even get close to the FIRST entrance without being stopped. they have signs and everything that tell you to turn around or force will be used. why would they have those signs if they weren't trying to hide something? for 9/11 i truly just think it was just for aid of the country because we hadn't had no big impact and we were helping everybody else. and also the interesting thing about 9/11 is that all except one video footage of the plane hitting the pentagon was ceased.

  7. Conspiracy theory: MK-ULTRA
The code name for a covert mind-control and chemical interrogation research programme, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence. The programme began in the early 1950s, continuing at least through the late 1960s, using US citizens as test subjects. Project MK-ULTRA was brought first to wide public attention in 1975 by Congress and by the Rockefeller Commission. Investigative efforts were hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK-ULTRA files destroyed in 1973. Although the CIA insisted that MK-ULTRA-type experiments were abandoned, CIA veteran Victor Marchetti has stated in various interviews that the agency routinely conducts disinformation campaigns and that CIA mind control research continued. In a 1977 interview, Marchetti specifically called the CIA claim that MK-ULTRA was abandoned a "cover story".
Conspiracy theorists believe that MK-ULTRA was behind many so-called black-ops: Lawrence Teeter, the attorney for Sirhan Sirhan, the man convicted of the assassination of Robert Kennedy, pictured, believed Sirhan was operating under MK-ULTRA mind control techniques. Furthermore, Jonestown, the location in Guyana where members of the Jim Jones cult and Peoples Temple committed mass suicide, was thought to be a test site for MK-ULTRA medical experiments.

  8. An evil group of men has always wanted to rule the entire world. In the past conquest has failed to achieve this, due to the resulting outrage and awareness of the enemy. In our present time an evil group are trying a subtle but effective way to rule. This is to gradually infiltrate and delude the masses into accepting their ideas. Such subtle gradualism, along with distraction (such as unnecessary work, study, entertainment and sport) is being used effectively. Few people will therefore be aware of what is going on.
The powerful conspirators are made up largely of the international bankers, and the Illuminati, which is a super-rich organization, which controls the mainstream media, workforce, education system, companies, banks, energy supplies and governments. They are controlled by the richest people in the world such as the super-rich Rothschild and Rockefeller families. They also hide behind many organizations such as the United Nations, and the Council on Foreign relations.

There is a super secret rich organization of famous people hiding in plain sight. They are serving the Antichrist and doing his work on Earth. They are everywhere, in every country. They are evil and responsible for things that bring great tragedy upon people as a whole. The Illuminati is responsible for assassinations, bombings, terrorism, disease, and all the rest of the things wrong with the world.

  9. The Illuminati man, it's not even a conspiracy theory it is real. How else do you explain all the triangles everywhere, dollar bill, Illuminati, Doritos Illuminati, lebron's hairline, Illuminati. who is high in the ranks of the Illuminati none other than Jay-Z he is notorious for throwing up the triangle, he doesn't even try to hide it that is how untouchable he is. Beyonce is in on it too that is why they have so much money they sold their souls together. The real leader is blu-ivy though she is the leader of them and beyonce and jay-z have to pray to her every night in order to live.

world events are being controlled and manipulated by the Illuminati. many notable people were or are members of the Illuminati. The President of the United States is one.The Illuminati, also has infiltrated the Hollywood film industry.

  10. one of the most interesting conspiracies would be the rumors that the 1952 Lynmouth Flood in Devon, England was caused by British government scientists and the British military experimenting with artificial rainmaking or cloud seeding as part of research programme known as Project Cumulus. The floods caused the deaths of 35 people and extensive damage to buildings and the natural landscape. Declassified official documents uncovered by the BBC appeared to lend some credence to the theory and the incident was the subject of a BBC documentary. Although it could be true, I mean they obviously put a lot of thought into that reasoning.

This year, the Internet was rife with vile gossip and wild beliefs.I couldn’t even possibly list all the wacky new chemtrail and illuminati theories in just one article. And let’s just quickly drive a stake through the rumors that Ebola victims are rising from the dead.

  12. A 15-year-old girl named “Nayirah” testified before the U.S. Congress that she had seen Iraqi soldiers pulling Kuwaiti babies from incubators, causing them to die. The testimony helped gain major public support for the 1991 Gulf War, but — despite protests that the dispute of this story was itself a conspiracy theory — it was later discovered that the testimony was false. The public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, which was in the employ of Citizens for a Free Kuwait, had arranged the testimony. It turned out that she had taken acting lessons on request of the CIA and was actually the niece of a major politician in Kuwait. Nayirah was later disclosed to be Nayirah al-Sabah, daughter of Saud bin Nasir Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti ambassador to the USA. The Congressional Human Rights Caucus, of which Congressman Tom Lantos was co-chairman, had been responsible for hosting Nurse Nayirah, and thereby popularizing her allegations. When the girl’s account was later challenged by independent human rights monitors, Lantos replied, “The notion that any of the witnesses brought to the caucus through the Kuwaiti Embassy would not be credible did not cross my mind… I have no basis for assuming that her story is not true, but the point goes beyond that. If one hypothesizes that the woman’s story is fictitious from A to Z, that in no way diminishes the avalanche of human rights violations.” Nevertheless, the senior Republican on the Human Rights Caucus, John Edward Porter, responded to the revelations “by saying that if he had known the girl was the ambassador’s daughter, he would not have allowed her to testify.”

Ever since BeyoncĂ© released the “7/11″ video back in November, I’ve firmly believed that the title refers to something more than just being “fresher than youuuuuu” 24 hours a day.Is BeyoncĂ© going to surprise us with another album on “7/11,” a.k.a. July 11, 2015?Perhaps the apocalypse will go down on July 11?

  14. The most interesting conspiracy to me is probably the new world order. It's one of the most popular conspiracies out there and i've been hearing about it for years. According to this conspiracy, there is a small group of extremely powerful people working toward unifying the world under one government. In order to acheive that goal, they manipulate media, events, governments, and industries. They control the big banks like the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England and have even funded mant wars over the last 200 years. Their control over the banks have been the cause behind money inflations and depressions in the past on now.
This conspiracy definitely shapes our society and culture today in many ways. In many movies they can be twisted or seen in different ways. especially in animation. in 1988 a movie called my neighbor totoro came out in japan, years later it came to America and became a movie loved around the world. there was one thing that seemed questionable that became a conspiracy theory.

in the movie may(the youngest daughter) runs off from home and she ends up getting lost on the way to see her sick mother in the hospital. her sister and the whole town end up looking for may. her sister ended up running to totoro and riding the cat bus to get to her sister. now here is the theory, they say totoro is the god of death because they say shortly after may saw him she "gets lost" or dies, her spirit still wonders and the way her sister found her was going to totoro and giving up her life to find her littler sister. they end up finding her and going to the hospital to visit their mother where they sit in a tree outside of her window. the mother thought she saw them smiling down on her ( she says in the last bit of the movie) then the credits roll.

the theory is said to be disproved by the credits though. in the credit you see the family growing and that indicates 1) the mother got better and 2) that the came back home to live out the rest of their lives with their family with the help of totoro, not the god of death.

  16. Conspiracy theories are events that keep the world guessing. The one that has stuck with me for so many years is the theory that secret societies rule the world. Secret societies such as the freemasons and Yale University's Skull and Bones are groups with power that are kept secret in order to maintain that power. These are sort of like universal fraternities.
In eighth grade, my class had a discussion about the Illuminati and how real we think it might be during social studies fair. It is a topic that our entire class felt was interesting because on the music we listened to and the belief that our favorite artists were apart of it. I for one do not believe in all of it, but I think the society must exist. I believe the most powerful celebrities such as Kanye West, Beyoncé, and Jay Z as well as MBA players, presidents, and CEOs have been apart of the illuminati. They affect the way we live and the way we think and the way we dream about the future. However, I do not believe the theory that they have somehow sold their souls to the devil for money and fame.

In this article we will look at some of the top Google conspiracy theories from the past and its surprising to see them coming true.

Matthias Bröckers, an early proponent of such theories, dismisses the official account of the September 11 attacks as being itself a conspiracy theory that seeks "to reduce complexity, disentangle what is confusing," and "explain the inexplicable".

In a January 2012 article published on Cruz’s senate campaign website, the future senator argues that a 20 year old United Nations resolution signed by 178 nations including the United States under President George Bush, is actually a nefarious plot to “abolish ‘unsustainable’ environments, including golf courses, grazing pastures, and paved roads.
He also came up with a conspiracy to get rid of the federal government in 2013. The 2011 scheme helped him plan out the most recent one in 2013.

  33. The most interesting conspiracy theory to me is the Holocaust Denial. The Holocaust Denial is the act of denying the genocide of Jews in the Holocaust in World War II. Holocaust denial includes any of the following claims: that Nazi's Germany's Final Solution policy aimed only at deporting Jews from the Reich and included no policy to exterminate Jews. Most Holocaust denial claims imply, or openly state, that the Holocaust is a hoax arising out of a deliberate Jewish conspiracy to advance the interest of Jews at the expense of other peoples. For this reason, Holocaust denial is considered to be an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

  35. The new world order conspiracy theory states that a group of international elites controls and manipulates governments, industry, and media organizations worldwide. The primary tool they use to dominate nations is the system of central banking. They are said to have funded and in some cases caused most of the major wars of the last 200 years, carry out false flag attacks to manipulate populations into supporting them, and to have a grip on the world economy, deliberately causing inflation and depressions at will. Operatives working for the New World Order are said to be placed in high positions in government and industry. The people behind the New World Order are thought to be international bankers, in particular the owners of the private banks in the Federal Reserve System and other central banks, and members of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group. The New World Order is also said to control supranational and global organizations such as the European Union, United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the proposed North American Union

  36. The most interesting conspiracy theory I like to read about is The Denver Airport conspiracy theory and it refers to a collection of theories surrounding Denver International Airport (DIA) that most commonly claim the airport to be a new, secret headquarters or compound used by the Illuminati, New World Order, Neo-Nazis, or Reptoids. These claims are usually based on a vague Swastika shape that the runways and taxiways make when seen from the air, as well as murals, sculptures, and other engravings claimed to be secret code or "alien" language. The thing that most intrigues conspiracy theorists about Denver International Airport is the presence of five bunker type buildings below the airport. Blueprints exist of these five buildings that were buried at the beginning of DIA construction. Each of the five buildings were built completely, but then it was decided that they were positioned incorrectly and they were buried. Conspiracy theorists question why these buildings were buried rather than demolished as would usually be the case. Conspiracy theorists believe whole heartedly that the 360,000 square foot bunker was built by the “New World Order” to house the elites of society were the economy to collapse or nuclear holocaust to take place. Of course there is no actual proof to this belief, but there are a number of interesting points to note about the airport and the bunkers that lie beneath it.

The Federal Reserve banks merely execute the monetary policy choices made by the Board. In addition, nearly all the interest the Federal Reserve collects on government bonds is rebated to the Treasury each year, so the government does not pay any net interest to the Fed.

Facts: No foreigners own any part of the Fed. Each Federal Reserve bank is owned exclusively by the participating commercial banks and S&Ls operating within the Federal Reserve bank’s district. Individuals and non-bank firms, be they foreign or domestic, are not permitted by law to own any shares of a Federal Reserve bank. Moreover, monetary policy is controlled by the publically-appointed Board of Governors, not by the Federal Reserve banks.

  42. one of the most interesting conspiracies would be the rumors that the 1952 Lynmouth Flood in Devon, England was caused by British government scientists and the British military experimenting with artificial rainmaking or cloud seeding as part of research programme known as Project Cumulus.

Proponents of these conspiracy theories claim there are inconsistencies in the official conclusions, or evidence which was either ignored or overlooked.

CIA Drug Running in LA: Pulitzer Prize Award winning journalist Gary Webb exposed this alongside LAPD Narcotics Officer turned whislteblower and author Michael Ruppert, CIA Contract Pilot Terry Reed, and many others. In August 1996 the San Jose Mercury News published Webb’s “Dark Alliance”, a 20,000 word, three-part investigative series which alleged that Nicaraguan drug traffickers had sold and distributed crack cocaine in Los Angeles during the 1980s, and that drug profits were used to fund the CIA-supported Nicaraguan Contras. Webb never asserted that the CIA directly aided drug dealers to raise money for the Contras, but he did document that the CIA was aware of the cocaine transactions and the large shipments of cocaine into the U.S. by the Contra personnel. “Dark Alliance” received national attention. At the height of the interest, the web version of it on San Jose Mercury News website received 1.3 million hits a day. According to the Columbia Journalism Review, the series became “the most talked-about piece of journalism in 1996 and arguably the most famous—some would say infamous—set of articles of the decade.”

American workers had in fact sued the Johns Manville company as far back as 1932, but it was not until 1962 that epidemiologists finally established beyond any doubt what company bosses had known for a long time – asbestos causes cancer. Republican officials spied on the Democratic National Headquarters from the Watergate Hotel in 1972. While conspiracy theories suggested underhanded dealings were taking place, it wasn’t until 1974 that White House tape recordings linked President Nixon to the break-in and forced him to resign.

They affect the world around us with their agenda on what ever tactic they plans to use to get people on their side and thinking more like them on their idea of a central government. They are in the media everyday in news, advertisements, and music. The are the big corporations and agencies. They are the powerful people you look up to.They are everywhere.

David Emory is an American radio talk host and personality based in Ben Lomond,California. As well , he came up with the theory called " The Underground Reich." He frequently propounds the existence of this theory as a central feature of his boarder theses. This theory maintains the long-term interests of German-based multinational conglomerates. Likewise, it consists of a heavy industry, plus banking and finance of the early 20th century, having facilitated Hitler's rise to power and armed the Third Reich.

Conspiracy theories shapes society and the culture in it in various ways. They tend to make people be on the same side as the central government , then going in of what they seek or believe. As well , it keeps the world guessing and leaving them clueless. For instance, a person may question is this event really true or false ? Overall. it gives the citizens another way to view situations and subjects in our society.

  55. People who think that the Apollo moon landings were not all that they seemed at the time believe that Nasa faked some or all of the landings. Some of the theories surrounding this subject are that the Apollo astronauts did not land on the Moon; Nasa and possibly others intentionally deceived the public into believing the landings did occur by manufacturing, destroying, or tampering with evidence, including photos, telemetry tapes, transmissions, and rock samples; and that Nasa and possibly others continue to actively participate in the conspiracy to this day.

Those who think that Nasa faked some or all of the landings base their theories on photographs from the lunar surface which they claim show camera crosshairs partially behind rocks, a flag planted by Buzz Aldrin moving in a strange way, the lack of stars over the lunar landscape and shadows falling in different direction. Many commentators have published detailed rebuttals to the hoax claims, and these theories have been generally discounted but belief in them persists

  56. Literally the stuff of nightmares, MK Ultra is the code name for an early–Cold War CIA program during which unsuspecting Americans were given large doses of powerful hallucinogenic drugs like LSD. There is no doubt that the experiments, referred to as “Behavior Modification,” took place on dozens of university campuses, though the full extent of the project will never be known, since then–CIA head Richard Helms ordered the destruction of the bulk of the files in 1973. The dark side of MK Ultra was inspired by the supposed arrival of Nazi Party “mind scientists,” formerly charged with the spread of Hitlerian Weltenshunkreig, or world mental warfare, who were said to conduct secret programs like Operation Midnight Climax, which relied on CIA-funded prostitutes to dose unsuspecting johns with psychedelics as company men watched from behind one-way mirrors. While both Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski and Whitey Bulger were both MK Ultra subjects, “conspiracy” writers tend to concentrate on the mind-control aspects of the program that supposedly help build assassination-machine actors like Lee Harvey Oswald and Sirhan Sirhan.

  59. This much we can stipulate: President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963, struck by two bullets — one in the head, one in the neck — while riding in an open-topped limo through Dealey Plaza in Dallas. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with killing him, and a presidential commission headed by Chief Justice Earl Warren found that Oswald acted alone.

That conclusion hasn't passed muster with the public. A 2003 ABC News poll found that 70% of Americans believe Kennedy's death was the result of a broader plot. The trajectory of the bullets, some say, didn't square with Oswald's perch on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Others suggest a second gunman — perhaps on the grassy knoll of Dealey Plaza — participated in the shooting. Others believe in an even broader conspiracy. Was Kennedy killed by CIA agents acting either out of anger over the Bay of Pigs or at the behest of Vice President Lyndon Johnson? By KGB operatives? Mobsters mad at Kennedy's brother for initiating the prosecution of organized crime rings? Speculation over one of history's most famous political assassinations is such a popular parlor game that most people have taken the rumors to heart: just 32% of those polled by ABC believe Oswald carried out the killing on his own.

The letter told of a new field of physics that was showing that the element uranium could undergo nuclear fission, with the resultant release of a great deal of energy. Einstein described the probability that a sustained nuclear reaction could be produced and the possibility of the construction of extremely powerful bombs. He described the possibility that such bombs could be delivered by ship, although he was skeptical that such weapons could be delivered by air. He noted the likelihood that Germany would pursue the same line of research and that the Germans had already suspended the export of uranium from the Czech mines in their newly acquired territory.

the theory is said to be disproved by the credits though. in the credit you see the family growing and that indicates 1) the mother got better and 2) that the came back home to live out the rest of their lives with their family with the help of totoro, not the god of death.

The major tool they use to over power nations is the system of central banking. They are said to have funded and caused major wars the last 200 years, carrying out false attacks to mess with populations into supporting what they are doing, and to have a hold on the world economy, causing depressions at will. Operatives working for the New World Order are said to be placed in high positions in government and industry. The people behind the New World Order are thought to be international bankers, in particular the owners of the private banks in the Federal Reserve System and other central banks, and members of the Council on Foreign Relations etc. Conspiracy shapes our opinions in culture and society because we believe everything as humans and we let what we hear on a day to day basis change what at normally believe in.

Their conclusion: a "categorical confirmation" that JFK's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, acted alone. But as the 51st anniversary of the president's killing approaches, the conspiracy theories that have sprung up around the event seem all but indestructible. Here are the topics that have triggered the most debate

These types of theories make people to not trust their government. Its a problem when people can't trust their own government and don't know when they are telling the truth.
