HILLARY CLINTON - THURSDAY MARCH 19, 2015

Hillary Clinton ( Former U.S Secretary of State) underwent days of scrutiny because she had to explain why she used a private email account verses her government approved email account.  The Inspector General's report says that of the 1 billion emails sent by State Department employees in 2011, just over 61,000 were kept.

Do you think she should be scrutinized for this? Why was she in violation by using a personal email account?

  1. Hillary Clinton should only be scrutinized only if any classified information was sent without verification or permission. She is in violation due to her creating and using an unverified account rather than using a government approved email account for verification and approval for sending an email to the public.

  3. Although she was in violation of the law, I believe this is a very silly law. No email is truly secret because the government can find anything. She hasn't been doing anything suspicious. She shouldn't be scrutinized for this. There are way more serious topics to be worried about. this is so minor. If nothing bad was found on the email then there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

  4. I believe that everyone is obligated to their privacy. I feel that no matter who you are or how important you are everyone wants, needs, and deserves their own privacy. So with that being said i do not believe that she should be scrutinized.

They act like people don't have their rights to their privacy. We are all human beings and we all have a right to our privacy. If she has two different emails then who cares, That is her business not anyone elses.

  6. Hillary Clinton should not be scrutinized. While she is supposed to be using a government approved account for safety, she can have one for herself. Just because she worked in the government and knows some information does not mean she should not be able to live a normal life.

The only wrong thing about this is when you decide to work for the government you acknowledge the fact that your gonna have to use a government verified and checked email, so while this is her exercising her right to privacy, she has pretty much given that right up when your working for the government.

  9. Hillary Clinton should not be inspected for using her personal email. I mean, I understand that the government email should be used for her work to make sure what is sent is kept between government officials and nothing gets spread outside that boundary. However she does have a right to use her personal email.

Hillary should only if she violated a law or contract. it also depends on the content of the email. if it was already public information then i see nothing wrong with using a private email. then again if it was like government secrets or other important information then i see the reason for concern.

to use a private email can cause a problem if it is easily hacked. to keep their information private and safe i am sure is a major priority in the Government. it should not matter what emails is used as long as it is safe and being used for the right reasons.

  12. I think Hillary Clinton can have her own personnel email if she doesn't leak any information about the government what the problem. she has her own life and theirs nothing stating that she couldn't have her own email.

  13. I think that Hillary Clinton has a right to using her personal email address because she has a life outside her job. However, I don't think it's wrong to have the email address monitored for security purposes. If she has a personal email address, she should understand that a future President of the US has completely justified limitations.

  14. I don't believe that Hilary Clinton should be scrutinized for using her personal email account unless the contents of the emails sent had somethong relating to the government. She was in violation because she is requried by the government to use her government assigned email account so that she may be under close inspection. Honestly, I think the lack of privacy just comes with the job. The US government always has to be cautious to catch any suspicious activity before it turns into something big.

  18. I believe Hillary Clinton shouldn't have been scrutinized because she had every right to have a private email account. The only reason why she would be scrutinized is if she posted any classified information to anyone. I believe they are making a big deal about it. She was in violation because she could have sent things that were government-related and she never got approval for it.

I believe Hillary Clinton shouldn't have been scrutinized because she had every right to have a private email account. government tries to make it a bad thing because they want the leaders to portray what the government stands for. and it is important for us people to have our own thoughts and privacy away from government. and i feel that the government wants to keep her form having a divergent mind

  23. Everyone should be able to send information privately or on which ever email they want. However, if she broke any rules or regulations with her private email than its a problem. Especially if she sent classified information over that email, that's a big security problem. If they don't find anything wrong with the emails she sent then there isn't a problem.

  29. Some things need to have private access only. However, if she did break any certain restrictions and regulations, then that's another thing. If its for personal reasons such as family, then she shouldn't be penalized for that. However, if classified information was discussed, then yes because that's for government purposes only.

  31. I believe if she was going to be someone to run the country or atleast help run it, they should be honest with it. If something is going on, they need to say it. I dont agree with them hiding things. I agree some things do need to be kept private, but at the same time, they need to know to be honest.

So that's why they say she in violation by using her private email because they can't access her emails without an warrant or permission.

  39. I feel as people in such high positions as Mrs Clinton was and still is should have to answer to someone and that someone is the public. I am also torn because i still do believe that people have a right to privacy no matter their social stature. As a society where do we draw the line between business and personal for the ones in power , or is a personal life something that people in power chose to give up when entering said venture.

  42. I personally don't think that she should be scrutinized for using a personal email. Even though she is a well known government official, I think she should have the right to privately send emails. The fact that she wasn't even doing anything bad makes it even more clear that she should not be scrutinized for using a personal email. She was, technically, in violation because as a government official she is supposed to use the government issued email, but what if she had something private to discuss or she just felt like using a personal email. Honestly this shouldn't be seen as such a serious matter and they should lay off of Hillary a bit.

There are other important problems that other people have and she should not play with government business. because she has access to the government she can bring her issues to their face. But maybe she used it because her problem was super important.

Hillary Clinton should be scrutinized only if she was violating others and keeping away secret information from government officials. If there was secret information being sent , then yes there is consequences along the way, Your on higher level then others and your dealing with the government , so you should know what to do and what not to do. Although , she does want to use her personal account then yes it is right for her to use it , its her personal business. However. her personal account should not be used for government activity.

I mean she is a high level government official, so when they do things like this that don't seem quite right, it calls for a couple of big questions. With Isis still on the horizon and conflicts across the nation for various reasons, people of the government have to be watched very closely. Nothing personal to Hillary, but that's just what has to be done to ensure we have the right people in the right places.
